Another reason that a 90-day trial employment period is ideal for companies is because it allows them to take on new employees at a lower risk. The same applies to termination on the side of the employee. But if you feel that a probationary employee is not going to be up to scratch you can terminate them at any point during the trial period. During the probationary period, the supervisor should make every effort to assist the staff member in attaining the desired level of performance or conduct.
